Student paper by Lt. Cdr. Beth Frances Coye in which she presented various perspectives relating to the role of women, the significant trends in theory and factual evidence related to the changing status for American women, and the special considerations which circumscribe the Navy's woman line officer program. In her findings, Coye ascertained that the role and status of the women line officer needed to be reevaluated by the Navy with a view towards eliminating problem areas and ambivalences wherever possible.

This folder contains three items from the Federal Women's Program of the U.S. Civil Service Commission dating from 1976 Apr 1-Aug 26.

The first item is their "Women in Action" newsletter, 1976 Apr 1. This newsletter provides an information summary for the Federal Women's Program and includes information on career counseling, reviews of resources, and short profiles on various female federal workers.

The second item is another newsletter from the Federal Women's Program, "Women & Work," from 1976 Apr. This newsletter includes news from the United States Department of Labor and features information on key appointments for women in the federal workforce and awards.

Lastly, there are an announcement and invitation for two events taking place during Federal Women's Week in 1976 Aug. The first is a flyer for a CPR class on 1976 Aug 24 in Pringle Hall and the second is an invitation for a luncheon at the Officer's Club on 1976 Aug 26 to celebrate Federal Women's Week.
